1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the BetaCentral platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the service. These terms apply to all members, officers, alumni, and other users of the platform.

2. Eligibility

BetaCentral is intended for use by current members, alumni, and prospective members of Beta Theta Pi chapters. Access is granted by chapter officers or designated administrators. You must be at least 18 years old or have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use this platform.

3. User Accounts

Accounts are created and managed by chapter administrators. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use BetaCentral in a manner consistent with the values and policies of Beta Theta Pi. Prohibited activities include harassment, hate speech, sharing of illegal content, unauthorized data scraping, attempts to disrupt the service, impersonation of others, and any conduct that violates university policies or applicable laws.

5. Content & Conduct

Users may submit messages, announcements, event details, and other content. You retain ownership of content you create, but you grant BetaCentral a license to use, store, and display that content for the purpose of operating the platform.

6. Privacy & Data

Your use of BetaCentral is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described therein.

7. SMS/Text Communications (Optional)

SMS messaging is entirely optional and is never a condition of using BetaCentral, creating an account, or completing any transaction. Accepting these Terms of Service does not opt you in to text messages. We send SMS only to people who have separately and affirmatively opted in by checking an unchecked SMS consent box, either on our public opt-in form at beta-central.com/sms-opt-in or in the "Text Message Updates" setting inside their BetaCentral member profile. You may decline or skip SMS at any time and continue to use every feature of the platform.

• Purpose: Event reminders, recruitment communications, and chapter announcements.
• Frequency: Message frequency varies based on chapter activity (typically 2-6 messages per month).
• Rates: Message and data rates may apply.
• Opt-Out: Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or turn the setting off in your profile. Reply HELP for assistance.
• Carriers: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Consent: Consent is not a condition of membership, account creation, or any purchase.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates.

8. Termination

Chapter administrators reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to BetaCentral at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these terms.

9. Disclaimers

BetaCentral is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BetaCentral and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and take effect immediately upon posting.
